My new iPhone 12 Mini seems to have quirks. When I got the phone in October, I restored it to my previous iPhone status (all the Apps, etc). Almost every day, I get a request to log into my email accounts (asking for my passwords). Since I've been having trouble with email, for a while I was entering my email passwords when these requests popped up. Now I'm wondering if they were a scam to access my tracking or worse. I do get a lot of junk mail. If I were to do the reset to factory and then load the apps I wanted manually, I'm wondering if this will clear up my problems. I also have screen lockups and other squirrelly things going on with both my phone and my iPad.

If I do the factory reset, I realize it's going to be a PITA installing my present apps. On the other side, I've got apps that I never use that I picked up over the years.

Wondering how many others have gone for the fresh install WITHOUT restoring?

Whenever I get a new phone,I normally set it up from scratch to avoid old problems. It does feel good to refine my apps collection.

Are you using Microsoft emails accounts? I’m having the same issue of very regular password requests, Ive done a bit of research and looks like the problem is widespread. For me is started with the iOS 14 and Big Sur updates. Fingers crossed that the next set of mac OS and iOS updates sorts this.

I had this issue with an outlook account asking for the password every few days, I just turned on 2FA for the account and the issue went away.

Is 2FA an App? I see a couple in the App Store. I have a couple of 2 step financial site that send my a code to log in with every time I open one of the sites.

Doesn’t setting an account specific password via apples site a fix for email problems?

This is NOT an email problem. I just get popups to sign into my outlook/gmail accounts. I just ignore the requests and they fade away.

Yes but i think generating a specific password thing fixes those issues? I had problems with Gmail and this fixed those problems... not sure sorry

I had this happen using the mail app after I upgraded to Sur. I use O365 as well. I kept hitting cancel and eventually they stopped.
