I have my 2.0 unopened here, and I think I decided to keep it instead of returning it for an MBP. If I bring it back to the Apple Store, can I just pay the difference of the 2.4 MB? How does it work? I am a student, so would I just pay difference of the 2.0 MB + tax and the 2.4 MB and tax? Because that would only cost me around $270. Thanks guys!

Usually if it is unopened you should be ok to do just as you stated. As for the 2.4, hands down I would do it for the backlit keyboard alone.

Does it matter if the computer was sent to me by Applecare? They replaced a computer with the 2.0 MB but I want the 2.4. I'm still waiting for FedEx to come today :D

All done... got my 2.0 from FedEx, drove up to the Apple Store, returned it, and got a 2.4. With my student discount, I only had to pay $216 out of my pocket for it! The keys are perfect, the battery panel feels tight, and I have an 9C8B panel which looks kinda good. I wanna find a good profile for it though. The keys light up!! haha, I'm glad I returned it for this model :) I don't know when this computer was built but I still had to download 10.5.6 and 100 other updates but I think it already had the firmware updates for new Macbooks.

Nice one! I, too, have the 2,4GHz MacBook and think it's brilliant. You'll love it, too. And yeah, the backlit keyboard is pretty cool.

You paid $216 for a couple of LEDs and a slightly faster processor?

I wish that I was such a wealthy student!

It was just Christmas and all of my family gives me cash! :D I've used a friend's 2.4 and I just wouldn't be happy without the backlit keyboard. I would have had to upgrade the hard drive because 160GB is small, but I can manage with 250. Also the faster processor is a plus.

I did the same as you and I am very happy I did it.

A lot of companies off a discount with Apple. I paid around 100.00 to upgrade from the 2.0 to the 2.4
You should see if your company offer any discounts.
