my ip4 is jalibroke on 5.0.1 with baseband 01.59.00, and i want to sell it with that baseband to get it more marketability. whats the best/safest way to do so while removing all of my data and keeping that baseband and firmware?

Yes it does. A jailbreaker should NEVER choose that option. Surpirised someone would say that.

OP, get redsnow and make a custom ISPW. Super easy.

why would i need to you redsnow to do this? i just want to clean my iph4 from everything i have on it to i can sell it but keeping it on 5.0.1 software and baseband of 01.59.00 so someone can unlock it.

You do a full restore using a custom IPSW, wipes out everything so it still keeps the baseband.

You can use redsn0w or sn0wbreeze/pwnagetool.

Doesn't that brick your phone? Forgive me if I'm wrong.

No it doesn't despite what someone else posted. I've actually done this, maybe some are just guessing. You simply restore your iphone when you are done. Of course if you rely on an unlock you'll need to use a custom firmware to protect your unlockable baseband from turning into a locked baseband.

Just restoring, even with a custom firmware file does not wipe out all personal data. This has been proven time and time again.
