I got a refurb 8 core 2.26 system 6 gig ram.... no issues, 2799$, I am not running a studio, just recording my things, and thinking that maybe the 8 core is way too much for anything I would ever touch, I was thinking of sending it back for an Imac, but thats going from 8 core to 2 core... I'm sure it will still run what I do but for how long is that question. I use Cubase 5, dont even know if it supports 4 or even 8 core, and some high end VST but thats about it, downgrading to the I mac would get me like 1K back $, not sure what to do,

Keep in mind you'll have to pay a restocking fee. 15%, I believe, about $420 bucks.

I'd just keep it, because I'm not about to throw away $420. That mac will serve you well until it dies, because it is absolute overkill for your needs.

4 years from now it will be a perfect fit. :D
