Thinking of upgrading my 2011 15" MBP to 8 GB ram

I'd just get whatever 1333MHz DDR3 is cheapest from a reputable dealer. No brand is faster than another, and even though you could probably go 1600MHz in your machine, it's all but impossible to notice the difference in anything but benchmarks.

Hit Crucial.com... Great RAM.... Updated mine to 8GB and am glad I did. Would not bother getting anything more than 1333MHz.

This is my recommendation as well, Crucial.com all the way, it's what I plan on doing (8Gb) for my birthday here end of next month.

Definitely go for the 8GB ram from Crucial.com it's great! I currently upgraded to it about 2 weeks ago!
