I'm thinking of upgrading to a SSD for my 2009 Macbook. Does anyone know if it's compatible with SATA 3? What issues I might run into(this would be my first SSD) and any FAST SSD recommendations(not too expensive)?

it should work, i have the 2010 macbook and was thinking of putting a hybrid ssd drive in mine. You can get a 500 gb one for 90 bucks on amazon, and what that does it remember your most used programs etc, and save them to the partitioned ssd part of the drive for faster boot times and what not. It may be something i do in the near future.

But depending on what size you want the ssd, if you want it all solid state it can be pretty expensive.
