I've got it in my head that I would like to upgrade to the new macbook pro 13 inch base model. I'm currently running the late 08 macbook aluminum unibody 2.0ghz, 2gb ram and 160 gb hard drive.

In general..would it be legit to ask $500 for the macbook?

Seems like a good time to upgrade as the new pros are pretty slick with their new chips.

I think most MR members will say that you'll easily be able to get $500 for your aluminum 13" MB.

Good luck. :)

Without getting into the whole pricing thing on this forum when we shouldn't you can always see what they are going for on eBay as you have a better idea of what you are going to sell, and you can search many variables on eBay, then you will get a realistic value.

Just a suggestion instead of dumping the OP question.

Thanks for the help guys. In terms of the upgrade, do you think it's worth it? I'm getting to the end of my apple care on this one...but it still runs great. Backlit keyboard and the other upgrades are really tempting though.
