I have a Mac Mini that I use with a ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard uses a trackpoint and it works very with one exception. The trackpoint has three buttons left, right and center. The center button button is used for scrolling. When you press center button, you can push the trackpoint up or down and it scrolls in that direction for whatever application you’re in. It seems no matter what browser I’m using beit Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc., if I press the center button and I’m over a link, whether it’s a news story or product page, it opens that page in a new tab. If I’m on a particularly large website and scroll to the bottom, I can look up and have 20 tabs open.

I looked through the mouse properties, but there wasn’t much in the way of options, so I’m wondering what’s causing this and what I can do to stop it? Thanks for any help.

Did you ever try BetterTouchTool to control the trackpoint a bit more than default settings?

I'm interested to hear more about how this has gone for you as I just ordered one of these keyboards for use on my Hackintosh dual boot HTPC
