I'm trying to find a really thin iPhone 6 plus case that allows you to lay the phone on it's face without the glass touching the surface---so at least a little protection up front.

Please post links/photos of anything you have found like this.

I'm a pretty big fan of the CandyShell from Speck, but they don't seem to have the kind without all the rubber in the back for the 6 Plus. So something even like that, although not super thin, would be fine.

Thanks.

Not the thinest, but the official apple one is pretty thin, probably one of the thinnest that protects the front though and feels nice.

Do you know if the box they come in can be easily opened to test it in store?

Well the box has a strip you pull away to open the box so it can't be resealed but Apple offer a 14 day return policy, no questions asked, so you could just return it within that time (they might even have one you can test).

I don't think that one has any lip in the front.

It looks like it does. The case is 8.8mm thick and the iPhone 6 is 6.9mm. It's probably the thinnest case that has a lip. It's small but it looks to be there.

Sheesh that is close. I wonder if the glass would still actually touch the surface because it looks like the lip is only noticeable on the edge where the glass curves in.

Where'd you find that photo, by the way?

On the Spigen site for the product. I have the Airskin now and have the order for Slim on the way.

I have both that case and the airskin. The thin fit does have a small lip and the glass does not touch any flat surface you put it on

Another factor that I think is important is to have the case thick enough so the camera doesn't stick out of the case on the back.Dont want a case that rocks when laying on a flat surface.I have the Apple leather case and it has a lip on the top side to protect the glass when laying face down, and is thick enough to hide the camera in the back, but it could be thinner as the camera has close to a mm clearance.

What makes you say that?

Almost all (if not all) docks require the block the lightning port sticks out of to sit flush with the bottom of the phone. That's why Apple started leaving cutouts on theirs. Otherwise the lightning connector won't seat the whole way in the phone.

I have the iPhone 5 version of the Air Jacket, and it works perfect in my Elevation Lab dock. The Lightning plug body does sit higher than the bottom of the dock though.

The OP did not list dock compatibility as a prerequisite..

The Apple leather and silicone cases have what the iPhone 5 case did not - open access on the bottom so that it can be used on a charging dock. My 6+ is charging on a dock right now in it's expensive leather case.

What dock are you using?
