Hi,

I'm looking for the thinnest Apple Smart Cover compatible back case.

- No carbon fiber (0.35-0.6mm). Too expensive, 3G/4G signal strength issues.
- No skins (usually 0.2mm). Protects from scratches but not from small dings.
- Officially at least under 1mm thick (e.g. Speck SmartShell, Incipio Smart Feather are 1.2mm).

It's for the iPad Air, but as a point of reference I was also looking at iPad 4 and iPad Mini cases from different manufacturers.

Thinnest ones I found so far:

1) 0.9mm: Tuneware eggshell for iPad Air
67g, ~$30, available 2013-11-04 in clear and 2013-11-12 in smoke/clear white

2) 0.8mm: CAZE Zero 8 for iPad Mini/3/4, no iPad Air yet

I'm looking for the exact same thing except I don't want it to be Smart Cover compatible. Im trying to go as slim as possible and topless. :p

The i-BLASON will be out the 7th, and I believe a review said it was just under .8 and it has the smartcover anchors, which I like. Also has great reviews for the Mini version.

Thats the one I'll be getting. Anyone know how thick it is?

Interesting. But I couldn't find any official info about the thickness.

You quoted your answer, somebody forget their coffee this morning? :p

I'm looking now, it was on YouTube where they said the thickness but I can't find the video. Either way, check the review that is posted on Amazon, I think you will see looking for an actual number is kind of splitting hairs.

Well, in my experience, user reported data in this regard is very unreliable. That's why I'm restricting myself to official data in the name of objective comparability.

Eh.... my experience has taught me to not worry about the little things. It looks thin in the videos, folks are giving it mostly 5 stars, and it's less than 7 bucks. There are plenty of "ultra thin" back covers out there that give people nothing but trouble, cracking in corners, etc. This case has good reviews, and my money.

Different strokes.
