I've had terrible luck with Airports. First one lasted for just under a year. Replaced under warranty, that one died in less than 2 weeks. Got it replaced, and even went out and bought a dedicated (small) UPS to help avoid any power issues since I suspect lightning storms are the actual cause. Third one (sounds like the Monty Python "I built a castle in a swamp" bit) lasted from July last year until last night. The cable modem, disk drive, and printer that are sitting right with it and on the same circuit are unaffected.
This time seems like a very similar problem -- no front light (reset doesn't work) but one of the rear Ethernet ports has the light one (even with no cable).
So I've reluctantly given up and ordered an Asus RT-56U from Amazon.
Currently rockin' in old school with a Linksys 10/100 hub.
