Third Gen iPad Verizon Actovation Question

Hello,

I just bought a third gen iPad from local authorized dealer. It is Version version and I cannot seem to get it activated with Verizon prepay account. I had no problem doing it with my ATT iPad 2. Verizon tech support was not much help and neither was the store. Has anyone had any problems?

Thanks I looked at it but was under the assumption that you buy an iPad to use with Verizon, you should be able to take it home and set it up to run as I did so on my ATT iPad2. Is my thinking incorrect?

Hey Bill,

Wrong indeed. If you're iPad was activated on that bogus post pay plan, you're in for one long ride if you're trying to convert that to pre pay.

On the other hand, if you bought it from an apple store unactivated, there might be hope for ya.

Turned oout the problem was several bad iPads at the authorized dealer I bought it from. The MEID's were never registered with Verizon. A Verizon tech rep said he's only seen that several times in over ten years of dealing with MEID's.

New one I picked up at Apple works fine.
