As much as I'd love for this to happen, I think that we would have heard more something about people getting their apps accepted/declined already if they were to be released next week. One source doesn't seem like enough evidence. But who knows?

The keynote on 3/6 says late june, but Steve in speaking about it said June. Maybe Apple is trying to make up for the late release of the SDK Beta.

good point.

Well, I hope it IS released soon, like next week would be superb. But I don't want an unfinished 2.0. I don't want a buggy 2.0, I don't want a rushed 2.0, I want a perfect 2.0.

so I'll wait all year for that if need be.

it was my impression (however no proof to link) that the "source" you speak of, was Steve Jobs at the 2.0 software SDK announcement.
Yes, I'm talking about that presentation. The keynote said "late June," but in the presentation, he just said that it would ship in June. If one didn't pay attention to the slides, they would have only heard the word "June," with no mention of the word "late."

I think those of us who've been working on these commercial apps for the last couple months would have heard something about this...

now we'll just have to wait for ziphone or someone else to ensure we can use the 2.0 firmware with unlocked/jailbroken phones.

Well it's very possible 2.0 will launch next monday, but only the big players programs such as Slingbox Mobile, Google Earth, Yahoo ToGo, AIM, etc will be available from start.

Ehh, not necessarily. EA's Spore's releasing in September. Who's to say those other programs aren't?
