We all know that Apple's $19 USB-C cables are the world's biggest ripoff when you can get a good, functional, durable cable with a reputable brand name on Amazon for like $4.

Except...

Man, are those Apple cables nice.

The cheap cables all seem to be very stiff and they have a bunch of strain protection plastic that makes it awkward to plug them in from a bit of an angle.

Are there any third parties that are selling cheap cables that are similar to Apple's? Similar "floppyness," connector length, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

I’d go to eBay. I have purchased plenty of OEM Apple cables there on the cheap.

Ross and TJX have a bunch of nice braided USB C cables for iPhones 15 and later. Even in sets that come with MagSafe power bank, a pouch and a USB C adapter.

I have the iHome one that came with a set with a MagSafe power bank. Used that USB C to C cable at home.

I use Anker braided and they seem to be as good as Apple’s
The reason I started this thread is because I bought a couple of the Anker cables and wasn't completely satisfied with them.

They work fine, they look fine, and I'm sure they're durable enough. But they're also pretty stiff, and the strain protection plastic on the connectors is pretty long. They're awkward for me to use in my car.

I bought a black Apple USB-C cable on eBay (they should sell them in their stores...) and it's really really nice.
