Hello all,
I'm trying to resurrect a G4 iMac for a friend, and am trying to get a USB WiFi dongle to work with it. It's got 10.4.2 and half a gig of RAM, so it should be an OK machine if I can get it connected.
The stick is a 'SAKAR M04617', which apparently has an Atmel chipset. I did manage to find an old driver for 10.2.x, which installed with no complaint but doesn't seem to have done anything. Currently, Network Preferences does not show Airport/WiFi as an option, there is nothing in the menu bar and the stick just shows up as a generic USB device in ASP.
Any ideas? I wouldn't bother normally, but Airport cards are going for crazy prices on eBay.
David.
