Running 10.8.2....spinning beach ball and lag in typing...sr.apple advisor
unable to fix...sends me application to be run on mac to pickup information
and email back to apple. 4 days later get information that sr. advisor follows with me...about 7 things...PROBLEMS persist. Send sr advisor email that problem still exists...I predict she will say to install OS again. In less than a year this will be the THIRD time...all problems started with upgrade with 10.8.
There were no serious problems requiring re-installing the OS...multiple times.
This takes a lot of time and it is irratating at best.
This is not why I buy apple computers since 1996

Would you like some help, or are you just ranting?

What Mac Model (exactly) are you running? How much RAM?

If reinstalling does not fix the problem, then there's no point doing it again. We can assume it's not the OS. That leaves third-party software or something in the user account.

Use Activity Monitor (in the Utilities folder) to see if one process is using all the CPU or RAM when you get the spinning wheel and slowdown.

Does the problem persist in a brand new user account? If not, then your problem is in your original user account -- most likely a corrupt preference, database, or cache.
