A year ago I bought a new 2010 iMac 27 2.93 GHz i7. Its the 6th Mac that I've owned beginning with the Performa 6300. Turns out its the least reliable with components that are failing.

First problem was a bad bluetooth board that prevented the imac from sleeping automatically. I spent hours on the phone with senior applecare techs reinstalling the system software etc. before the engineers finally figured out what was wrong. The board was replaced, problem solved.

Second problem was the usb card reader which failed and had to be replaced.

The latest problem is a usb port that no longer works. Neither my iPad or ipod will show up through that port. I have determined that its not the connecting cable or the devices but it is that one port that is now dead. So now I have to get back on the phone with Applecare and drag the computer back to the Apple store again for yet another repair. Needless to say I am now quite disillusioned with Apple products and can only wonder what will fail next. Good thing I bought extended Applecare.
