This a good camera?

I'm wondering if this would be a good camera for me. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money. I want something that's mosty good for family videos. I don't want a mini DVD camera.

You can get a much better High Definition camera for just a little more. Like this one :

I think the Canon VIXIA HF10 is definitely the best AVCHD camera in its class. You can record in 60i, and it also has a great 30p mode for more sophisticated playback on digital equipment.
