Why when my cable is mifi certified ? Sorry apple I don't want to buy your overpriced cables. Infuriating..

Indeed the manufacturer lied. Buy Anker or the cables from Amazon basic range. They're all legit and properly certified.

Apple cable is surely overpriced but at least Apple cannot refuse helping you if you have problem with their cable.
But sometimes, third party one is actually better, with same or even lower price.

I've actually never seen an apple cable not working... Falling apart, yes, but not working while intact, never.

I have the best luck with Amazon cables. I would recommend those.

For some reason Apple cables (kept on my desk in mint condition) will fail on me. I notice because my iPad will charge than stop, charge than stop, making the connected tone over and over. Replace the cable and all is well.

Anymore I keep my OEM cable in the box so it looks nice for resale.

So it seems like its a hit or miss. This is one thing that pisses me off. Apple not adopting universal open standard.

It isn't like other vendors are any better with USB. I've had cables that would work some things but not others. Works with my kindle, doesn't work with my Samsung Tab S. Works with my blackberry but not with my hp touchpad. Currently have one that my friends Samsung S4 always complains about.

Really? I figured usb just works with all, my ignorance I guess.
