This button in mail does?

can u guys tell me what this button does in the mail? its the one in the middle of them all with a box and arrow pointing down.. i keep hitting it by accident and then cant find my mail again

anyone know where it went? i'll give u a slice of pie

I believe it is "Archive".

It is Archive

He is using the Gmail IMAP config on the iPhone. In settings it gives you a choice, to Archive Gmail messages or Delete. If you choose Delete then the trash can will be in the middle spot like any other mailbox.....but if you keep the default Archive, then you get that icon.

I just wish Apple would implement a way that we could choose with each email rather then having to decide that we will always want to delete or always want to archive.
