I will tell you if you google this you will see lots of cases regarding dns prefetching being the bug issue with safari 5. Apple has recommended that some revert back to safari 4 or use a different browser.

For me it starts after awake from sleep, topsites has too load. Restarting also causes this to happen. It will last for several second to more that a min! Happens randomly throughout the day.

Maybe there is an issue for some. I look after a dozen or so Macs and have not experienced any issues.

Ahhhhhh..... but it's VERY enlightening to me, I have one Mac that just doesn't work on Safari 5 anymore, I've been troubleshooting the WiFi link to no avail, now I have a better idea of what might be happening now.

put me in the problem column. Crashing daily, slow to load, even with DNS changes. Have done every trick I could find on any site to make it work better, and now it's tolerable at best. Until it crashes.

can't believe they haven't come out with a patch yet. So many people having problems.

I have had no issues with Safari 5, nor have I had any of these issues with my airport wireless connection either.

I have 3 Macs, 2 are absolutely fine, 1 has this issue.

Initially I thought I was being clobbered with WiFi interference, but now with some help from the linked threads, I've been able to at least have a working Safari on the Mac that has the issue. Not a great experience, but much better than previous.

Good news and Apple should have a patch.
