trying to update to ios 5 beta 2

i tried:
restoring in itunes beta 1
restoring in itunes beta 2
restoring DFU in itunes beta 1
restoring DFU in itunes beta 2
estoring DFU in itunes beta 1 with sim card removed
restoring DFU in itunes beta 2 with sim card removed

keep getting the "This device isn’t eligible for the requested build" error

is there any guide that shows me how to get past this?

You probably have the wrong IPSW or you have lines in yoiur /etc/host file from TinyUmbrella that you need to delete.

I just got my UDID registered thru eBay.

Same error.

Even when I restore to iOS 5 Beta 1, which worked for me before.. I get the same error.

Just got UDID from eBay for $5

found a fix.. has nothing to do with UDID

"This error is actually caused by something completely different. This usually happens if iTunes is unable to contact the Apple servers to verify the device's SHSH signature files. The device activation, which is related to the UDID, doesn't take place until after the firmware is success. If you've ever used the program "tiny umbrella", then this is most likely the cause.

If you have used tiny umbrella before, there is an option under the advanced tab labeled "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit". You'll want to make sure this is unchecked.

If you have never used tiny umbrella, you'll have to go digging into your system's host file. The easiest way to do this is to open up the terminal and type "sudo nano /etc/hosts" without quotes.
Once you're in, make sure there is no entry for "gs.apple.com". If it is there, add a # in front of the IP address that is redirecting it (it will most likely be 74.208.10.249). This is redirecting iTunes to the Cydia SHSH servers every time it tries to verify your device and unfortunately beta 2 SHSH files are not on these servers yet.

If all else fails, usually creating a new user account just to do the restore with iTunes would work. The other option is to grab your SHSH manually and run a local TSS server using tiny umbrella."

That doesn't even come into play until the very final step of activating the phone once you've loaded the software...
