I keep getting this error when trying to install Yosemite on my Macbook Pro. There's clearly enough space to install it just fine. Also, i was thinking about just dual booting both OS's incase some of my programs don't work. Any suggestive help would be awesome!

You need to shrink one of your partitions by at least 256MB with Disk Utility before it can be installed.

so if I want to install it on another partition for dual booting purposes, I just have to change the size of the one i want to install Yosemite on?

ive tried changing the size of the partition to numerous sizes and restarting the installation and no such luck. any more suggestions?
