"This file is in use you cannot delete it" Help?!

This stupid video file that was corrupted is sitting in my trash bin at a whopping 8 gigs while my video I'm working on for a client has no where to render its files. All I get is "This file is in use you cannot delete it", I am rebooted my computer twice since and force quit every program save finder! Is there a way I can "brute force" delete it? Really I need this file gone Thanks in advance to anyone...
