So I've been wanting the iPhone 4 for a while, and decided I would wait in line at the Apple store for one overnight. The store is in the mall, and we were instructed by the employees to line up next to the movie theater. So we did. And it's 10:30, I'm the 5th in line, and feeling pretty damn good about myself. Then these two security guards walk up and tell us we're on private property and need to leave. We, of course, tell them that we're here for the iPhone launch and the Apple store told us to line up. They said, no, you can't be here, we're setting up lines at 5 in the morning and come back then. In the meantime go line up at a gas station or something.
And we say, that's a terrible idea, there's going to be hundreds of people and they're going to kill each other waiting in line unsupervised and then rush here at 5 AM and push and shove and basically it'll be a disaster. Plus, we say, you're going to be turning people away every five minutes for the whole night. Wouldn't it be easier to just line us up here? And they tell us, hey, we don't care, that's not are problem. And we say it will be your problem if someone gets hurt. And they say it's still not their problem. So then they have the cops come and escort us all off the property. So now, we have to come back at 5 and I guarantee you, I GUARANTEE you, someone is going to get hurt.
