Ok, well I've updated my iTouch, and the Genius function is nowhere to be seen.
I take it the icon is supposed to be inbetween the repeat and shuffle icons? Help!!
 
you have to activate genius on itunes, then synk your iPod with iTunes

should work after this (at least this is how it appeared to work on my iPhone)
 
I had similar problems even after multiple sync's, then another forumite said to drag one of the genius playlists to my Ipod Touch and that solved the problem.

Create a genius playlist on Itunes and then drag that playlist to the Ipod.
