Hi. I just bought a new Mac Mini to replace my aging MDD 867. It’s a great computer. What a difference in performance!

My mini was in idle (not sleep) for a couple of hours. When I got back to the room the screen had the weirdest information scrolling slowly from right to left on it. See the pictures.

Does anyone know what this is???? Thanks.

Rick

I don't really understand in this but it seems like yours Screen Saver. Or maybe you pressed before on any button on the keyboard. Weird. o_O

All the titles are network related, so it looks like your mini has enabled some kind of network activity reporting app, or diagnostic mode during the idle period.

I do not have VirusBarrier. I do have NetBarrier on my system, but, lately, I've been using the system's firewall instead of NetBarrier, so that has been turned off.

I do have a wireless network in my home but I have never seen this before.

Unbelievable! I found what it was! This is funny! It turns out that the Screensaver Preference defaults to Random when you get a new machine (I didn't think I had any screensavers on) and looking at the list of screensavers available, I notice one said NetBarrierSaver. Sure enough, that was it! It wasn't any kind of diagnostic tool -- it was a stupid screensaver!!

Thanks for all your input.

And the one with the first reply was right :)

Hats off to the helpers. Keen eye to pickup that the title were network related.

This kind of help is what makes MacRumors my first source for assistance or guidance!
