I doubt the newton code can be just 'modified' into a working handheld.

It was built on a well dated system of old hardware and outdated software.

If I know apple they will built a new smaller OS Handheld. Anyway not all users want a portable.

in any case, no product apple sells will have 100 percent market share or anything.

i think this would grab people like the ipod did.

i own a clie, with missing sync they have better support than in windoze. While I'd like an iPod PDA, with a Hard Drive and a good screen its battery life would be very short and much thicker than a clie.
