Of course, its for the filthy rich, who think 10k is spare change.

Free for the only people who can afford a 10K watch. Is this Angela's thinking?

They should make these celebs get in line like everyone else.

It is how the fashion world works. You hand out $10k purses to people, have photos of them with those purses then other women follow. There are very few fashion designers that don't hand out free stuff to celebs.

Exactly. Apple never made the Edition for consumers, it's to get celebrities wearing the watch in order to achieve mainstream adoption (of the standard models)

Clearly they gave her that for free for promo! Funny how that works

Amen. The people who would buy it are given one for the free publicity... What's cheaper? Giving her the watch or getting that many followers and now us to see it?

Yeah but it's the tech world too. It's not just fashion. I'd argue it's more tech than fashion quite frankly. The only people that interested are the techies save for a couple of others. If people like the way it looks and how they can use it, they will get it on their own just like the iPhone.

These people can barely sell $1.29 cent songs let alone a $700 - $1000 product.

Agreed. We're talking about Katy Perry on a Mac forum - can you imagine how many young girls are showing that pic to friends and family?

Apple watch is going to be a HOT Christmas present in the future.

Probably came out of Apple's advertising budget for the watch. $10K with 359,000 views (and more re-tweets) is ultra cheap advertising.

And it's not really a $10K cost to Apple. More like $1.5K cost. That buys you nothing in conventional advertising these days.

I sent my brother that picture saying Apple makes a $17,000 gold watch. He asked if Steve Jobs' jaw bone was the frame.

Agreed. This is all about getting publicity.

Technically, the watch didn't even cost apple 10k so yes, totally cheap and smart.

The funny thing is, people are so shocked about 10k for a watch when people are wearing that price tag on their feet or around their shoulder with a bag. There's a market for high fashion and Apple is smart to play to that market. Don't have to be haters on people who can afford to pay for things like this.

Drake and Pharrell both with wearing Editions pre-launch
