Hi everyone. I've searched the forums, and I did find some articles on this, but nothing that was of any help.

For some reason all the sudden I can no longer move items to trash. If I try to trash an item, I get the following message:
"Are you sure you want to delete ____?
This item will be deleted immediately. You can’t undo this action."

If I click "ok," it will atomically trash the item. While it does disappear from wherever I had the file before, I'm still not certain it's truly deleting the files.

What I've tried:
-Clearing the cache
-Repairing permissions

Anyone know a fix? Thanks. :)

When you send something to the trash bin, you must empty your trash for it to be truly deleted. Obviously, nothing is really "gone" but that is true of anything you delete. You can do a secure empty of your trash as well, that'll be fairly safe.

every time I run it on 10.6.8 it says Permission denied.
I have permission, I have run repair permissions multiple times.

I continue to get the prompt "This item will be deleted immediately. You can’t undo this action."

I have restarted after deleting the file.

How can I get permission?

I have run cd ~/.Trash and I get > No such file or directory
