If I'm understanding you correctly. Unlock your iPhone and a pop up should appear. Then tap "Trust". Exactly what the message says to do.

I have release version of both, and have the same problem, no popup now after upgrade.

I get the pop up and even though I 'trust' the computer it still doesn't allow me to import photos or sync with iTunes.

Snow Leopard and the latest iTunes version running with this operating system.

How come old Windows XP are able to import photos from iPhones but an old MacBook can't.

Comment from the Apple support: If you want to import your photos, get a new Mac able to run the latest iTunes.

Since when does one need iTunes to import photos from a camera or phone?
Ridiculous.

Very disappointed with Apple.
