Eeek!!
I think I require some serious help this time, I'll tell you exactly what I've done and the result.
I've only had my MacBook Pro a few months so am a total noob
Several days ago my Macbook Pro seemed to be taking forever to shut down (I'm sure it was the ivault dialog box that appeared) so I held the on/ off switch down to shut it down ..when I turned it on the next day my desktop picture had gone, all my dock icons had gone (bar the standard ones) yet all the items that I had left on my desktop were still there..
Today when I had finished using Garage band I closed the lid down as I was going next door to work and when I re opened it, I tried to open itunes and my whole library had gone (it had been had there minutes earlier!) Then I was prompted and itunes began to recognize all the tracks that were there in the first place and now every track is there three times I know it's something I have done and I'm not blaming my mac for this blunder..
Now Garage band is just showing an initializing box for ages and nothing happens if I try to listen to a project? About ten minutes before all of this I remember the sounds being played back (guitar) sounded like a crazy distortion pedal with so much drive it was insane!! I thought that I must have done something so decided to quit which is when all the fun and games started,,
Now all my bookmarks have gone again...
I am running version Mac OSX 10.4.11
What have I done?? If you think you can guide me through this please do but I am a noob
