I would suggest not using the VGA. It not digital and not worth your time. What I did with my 50" Plasma is, I bought this

If you don't have any free hdmi ports..use a dvi to dvi cable...any brand is fine. I like monster cables. But your choice

Agreed on the DVI front but FYI I wouldn't bother with Monster cables, i've tried them in the past and there's no difference other than the way they look.
Plus, when clerks need to go to lengths like these to sell them, you know it's a scam:

Ya I agree don't break your bank buying monter cables. I just like them because I had a couple of them hooked up and wanted to run all the same brand on my entertianment system. But I sure don't buy from the "big box" stores, rediculously over priced. I go searching on ebay.

The last post of mine is a cable that will work. All you need is a male DVI to Male DVI cable and your will be hooked up to your LCD. No you don't need or want any mini or micro. Just a normal DVI to DVI.
