Did anyone else do this? I got the Jet Black for many reasons, but one of them was a form of OCD therapy. I knew going in this thing was a scratch magnet. I wanted to use it as a way to not get all hung up on minor ****.

There are some things I will continue not to put up with, like dust under my screen or camera lens, my first phone did have the latter so I swapped it out. Two years ago I got a 6S and I babied the damn thing. One day I took it out of the case to clean and I noticed that the Apple logo got a nice big scratch on it. In a case. I was absolutely livid. It bothered me for a long time just knowing it was there and yes, I do have diagnosed OCD so this stupid crap gets to me so easily.

Fast forward to today and that phone has an Apple logo with some pretty cool looking marks on it, and the Spigen case left a weird imprint on it that I can’t seem to clean off. I’m now getting ready to sell it and I just bought a Jet Black 7 Plus. I knew going in that it would be impossible to keep immaculate, and I thought this would be a good exercise for me. I looked at some Jet Black phones in the store and when I wiped off the fingerprints the fine scratches actually appeared pretty nice in the light, and you could only see them shining the light right on them.

So I bought a SIM-free, that had dust in the camera, I deemed it was fair not to want that and exchanged. They were out of SIM-free (I got the 256GB) so I opted for the Verizon variant which is the same thing. I’ve had it for a couple days now in a case, already had one accidental drop at home, already got my first nick at the top of the phone and while it bothers me I know I’m going to have this thing for at least two years and I know it’ll get worse.

One thing I have to do though is I have to stop obsessively taking the case off and on to look. It honestly is ****** living with OCD, haha. For all I know that’s what caused the nick, not the drop.

Anyway just wanted to share my story, hope somebody found it interesting or even identified with it.
