To those people that have exchanged your iPads multiple times, did you use an iCloud backup? if so, does it run well after restoring from iCloud backup?

I exchanged mine one time. iCloud restore worked perfectly but if you have a lot of apps you need to be patient and let it do its thing for a few hours.

Since I only had my iPad 3 a few days before I returned it - I didn't have much to restore, but yes, I did restore it on the new iPad 3 and it worked perfectly. I had a good amount of apps (15+) too and everything came across beautifully. Settings and all!

For some reason Apple is hell bent on doing the iTunes restore in store. Mine took over an hour. I probably had about 10gb of data.

I have exhanged my ipad 27 times and I could not have done so sanely without the icloud backup.

I am so glad Apple added this feature!

Now that Apple has become hyper focused on being a mass market retailer, replicating a high volume sales model not unlike Walmart, quality is bound to decline. Collapsing ones expectations is a suitable solution.
