I just picked up my Air. I immediately can tell the difference between that and my iPad 4. It's much smaller, but still not what I would consider portable. If you were considering a portable option and thinking the Air is that due to being smaller, it isn't. They did a great job on this no doubt.

Old ipad looks like a boat in those pics. Wow. Haven't seen pics that make the difference seem that dramatic.

Time to change some bulbs mate. ;)

How is the one-handed feel? Is comfortable to hold in one hand? Not that I expect it to be as comfortable or easy to hold as the current Mini but that's one of the things I was wondering most about.

Great pics btw.

Feels good holding with one hand. You can't use it at all with one though. Too big. Long usage will not be an issue like with the iP4<. Weight is much less.

Ok here's a rather specific question if you'll indulge me...

If you are sitting on a couch, can you comfortably prop up the ipad on your leg with 4 fingers, while scrolling with the thumb of that same hand, while leaving your other hand free?

Part of what I love about the mini is the minimal physical contact it requires. I could barely do anything with just one hand on the ipad 4. Everything required two hands.

Edit, nevermind you basically answered above.

Thank you for report. Solidifies my decision to wait for mini retina.

I had originally wanted the mini for the weight but having felt the Air in my hands in the shop this morning, I decided to get one immediately. It's definately light enough to hold single handed, even for Asians like me. The advantage of easier reading and scrolling with the larger screen, for me, overcomes the 100g or so in weight.
