People were concerened with AT&T charging for mms even though unlimited plans include video and pics. I'm just curious any official statement released.

There is never going to be a charge for it. It is not a new feature. It is just a feature that was enabled. I will eat my words if they do start charging, however. :)

How can they if our textng includes pics and video. It says unlimited pics and video that's for any unlimited text plan why would I phone be different

tethering?

I am also wondering if people are getting tethering to work and if it is free?

I don't know about your plan but mine definitely doesn't have MMS or video language.

I'm a new AT&T customer so I didn't grandfather over an old plan. I've just learned that corporations are out for money in this country...customer service was left to India...

Go to AT&T .com. Unlimited texting includes pictures and video. It's 20 dollars. I pay 20. I have unlimited.

Yes I know this...but when you look into the actual wording of your contract it says nothing of pictures or video on the iPhone.

Now I'm not saying they will charge you for sure but you have to remember this is a company we're talking about. I'll check again here and do a copypasta of my contractual agreement...

For the Serious texter
You’ve got unlimited data for your iPhone, why not get unlimited SMS messaging? With iPhone Text Messaging Unlimited, you never have to worry about sending or receiving a text message again. Send as many as you want, to as many friends and family as you want, as often as you want.

You do not pay for MMS. At all. It is part of the $20 messaging plan (yes, even the iPhone plan.)

Thats intense...

While I totally believe you and agree that we shouldn't all I'm saying is that I wouldn't be surprised if they charged extra for the service...

Yup I totally agree with this... Right when apple said that MMS was coming I did some quick math without accurate numbers.. I forgot what they were but if AT&T did charge for this and say it cost 4.95 more on your text plan they would make 89 million more a month, and that's being conservative...

So think about it $5 more a month = some good extra money for them...

So I can see them charging also....

I think most people that got MMS working on their iphone had their messaging plan changed over from the iphone plan to a standard messaging. Thats what I did. And it definitely covers mms. So I am not being charged anything extra.

So we all just have to change our plans. AT&T would not charge more cause it's 20 for unlimited text pic and video. iPhone never had that cause we could only text on the iPhone now the plan just chNges. Do u know how many people would complain and sue since it's 20 for all other phones to get unlimited everything testing and pic and video.

AT&T will not make $89 million per month more - two reasons:

1) MMS will be included with your messaging plan, as it does with ALL phones on the network.

2) Not all 17 million iPhones sold to date are on AT&T's network, thus your numbers are not conservative nor are you numbers any where near realistic.
