I'm gonnn get a protector for my 4s so the condition stays perfect with no scratches. Do you guys prefer using eBay, Craigslist, or what? Do you keep the original box!?


Wann get the most from my 4s so the 5 won't take all my money

Why would you think about tossing the box?!?

You keep everything including the receipt. Take care in removing all the packing so when you sell you can put it back in the box like it was new.

This is kinda common sense is it not?

eBay will get you the most lookers and money. If you do not mind meeting strange people in public places, Craig's list will save you some money.

Do you save the box? LOL!:p

Ya I got the box and all. Even headphones unused. What could I get for this phone closer to launch?

I read a Couple posts on here About them getting scammed. Is that easily avoidable
 
The closer you get to the release of the 5 the LESS you will get. Right now the 4S will bring the most but after the 5 is announced there will be a glut of 4S units for sale.

If you follow the rules, you will not be scammed on eBay. But as you are asking you must not have any feedback on eBay and I avoid sellers and buyers with no eBay experience.

Craig's list is likely better for you or any local sales channel.

"Should I keep the box?" Come ON!

You are still a eBay newbie at 116 but you should know how is works.
 
i keep reading about how people are doing what they're supposed to as a seller and then end up getting ripped off....but according to you i'll be fine somehow
 
I don't see why everyone is so concerned with resale value as if the phone is an investment. Don't get me wrong -- I intend to keep my phone in good condition, but it's still a phone... much like a car, just a depreciating asset.

I'll get the 5 when it comes out and worry about the future of my 4S at that time.

maybe you have more spending money than myself..i was just wandering the best/safest place to sell it to get the most for it, then i'll put it towards the 5. which better have 4g
 
Craigslist.

I sold my 2+ year old HTC Evo just the other day for $200... pretty damn good I'd say.

I imagine I'll sell the 4s a little before the 5 comes out for more than $200 then buy the 5 off craigslist actually haha. The 5 will probably be $400-$500 on craigslist after the first few weeks so a net payment of $200-$300 isn't bad considering it won't damage my contract plus even if it was an upgrade, it'd be $200-$250 anyway from a store.

i think i was gonna buy from store regardless...i mean free 1 year warranty and what if it crapped out the next day?
 
Well if you're not eligible for upgrade, buying from store is like $600-$700 + 2 year agreement... craigslist would be $400-$500 with no agreement and if you just made $200+ off the 4s, it's not bad

if you buy a phone outright there is no 2 year agreement

Oh yeah, you're right. My point was you buy it outright at the store $600-$700 or online craigslist $400-$500... which one is the better deal... ;)

If you sell the phone, do you all use a back-up phone in the gap between the time you sell the phone and get the new one?

How do you all manage to do that?
 
I sold a phone to someone in Hawaii and had no issues lol I sold 3 Android phones on eBay and haven't had an issue yet. I'm debating on even selling my 4S even after I get another iPhone... Having a backup IPhone > Motorola Droid X backup.

I like to keep the previous model to fall back on this allows me to eBay my current model 4-6 weeks before launch!

Excuse me, what phone costs $600-$700 that comes with a 2 year agreement? Looks like it's time for you to switch carriers.

u get 1 year warranty per device not person buying it.
