How are those of you who aren't using a screen protector on your iPhone 17 series phones holding up? Any scratches, abrasions? Just curios as I'd really like to take mine off but don't want it all scratched. Thanks!

holding up just fine.
I've never used a screen protector on any iPhone (3GS was my first), never had an issue. haven't even felt the need to wipe the screen yet.

The older phones definitely scratched and by older I mean as recent as the 16.

I have had my iPhone 12 Pro since new 5 years ago without any screen protector and there isn't one nick or scratch with normal use.

scratch as in micro scratch when the oleophobic coating wears off? Sute, I had that on my 13PM but it was only noticeable in direct sunlight at certain angles, certainly not bothering me, YMMV.
I've never had a "real" scratch

Yeah that's what I mean, scratches in the coating. They are still scratches though.

ok. as is said, none on mine that bothered me in day-to-day usage, and I spend several hours per day outside in Southern California under bright sun.

On my previous iPhone 15 pro Max I didn't use one and it didn't get any scratches at all. However I've got nano texture displays on all my other other devices and I just can't bear the glare with iPhone screens, even with the new anti-reflecting coating (which doesn't seem to do much). So I've put on a matte screen protector on my 17Pro and I'm really enjoying it.

I still haven't seen a scratch on my screen yet, and I really hate screen protectors. I'm hoping it stays scratch-free for another few months/years. 🤞🏻

No scratches, holding up great! Just being cautious of where I put it, making sure it's not in the same pocket as anything else, etc. If I notice a scratch on it I'll probably get a screen protector.

Just fine. I’ve never used a screen protector on any iPhone I’ve ever owned and have never had any problems.

Holding up perfectly. To be fair, though, I've never used a case or screen protector on any of my iPhones so I'm practiced at treating them in such a way that they don't get damaged. e.g., front left pocket is dedicated solely to my phone -- nothing else goes in that pocket; I never set it down on hard surfaces; etc.

My 16 Pro scratched during its first week and the scratch haunted me for the rest of the year.

Screen protector on 17 Pro from day 1. A good screen protector actually improves the touch experience.

Good luck y’all. I always use a screen protector/case on my phones because I can’t bare the sight of imperfections.

I also can’t be bothered being extra careful with my devices. If I didn’t use protection, my 17 Pro would probably look like scrap metal within 6-12 months.

Stopped using screen protectors with my 13 PM, 14 PM ,15 PM and 16 PM. Never got a scratch.

Got a 2mm scratch on my 17 PM screen 2 days after launch and was visible. Didn't do anything different to all the other phones. Now have a protector on mainly to hide the scratch but also peace of mind if the "most scratch resistant screen ever" scratched that easily.
