i use one app at the time and just switch between apps back and forth with mission control ( super pro tip: swipe down for app exposé and then switch between apps with a 4 fingers right/left swipe)

i've realized that hiding the dock makes me win a LOT of space .i tried hiding the menubar but it's not very practical.

for pdf it's kinda cramped and i can't see the whole page..but i wouldnt be able to do it with a mba 15 either, since most pdf i used are vertical sadly,so i'd be better off with a tablet.

thought i wanted a 15" badly, but now with the dock hidden and the 13.3" on my lap,it's not so bad after all.very convenient and light ,much cheaper ..not as good battery tho but i can still get 9h out of the mba m1 i think ,which is far from bad . keyboard and trackpad are big enough. for movies bigger is better but i have a 27" monitor so,(also how often do u watch movies lol)

not sure this post will help anyone .not sure i'm helping myself either. but yeah ,think about your use cases ,hide dock and menubar.
