Im essentially between a rock in a hard place. I need a new laptop, my old faithful sony's battery doesnt hold a charge for more than 45 minutes. My heart is set on a mac book but IMO $1,300 seems like a waste of money for a laptop, when it could pay for a semester of classes next year. I am looking into getting an eee pc and then maybe buying osx to install on it. Now the questions...
1. Can i install OSX on an eee pc, they run on intel processors?
2. What are your impressions on them?
3. Has anyone had any experience with the linux OS that come with it?
and any other information would be helpful.

1. It's possible, but not advisable. No sound or networking. That pretty much makes it useless. Also forget Leopard, because the EEE specs aren't up to it. Tiger's the best you'll do.
2. I wouldn't want to depend on a EEE as a primary laptop for any amount of serious work. Keyboard's too small. It makes a great browsing/email/tinkering laptop. (As long as you stick with Linux, forget XP on the EEE)
3. The Linux that ships with it is decent, but a bit "dumbed down" for me. I installed Ubuntu and never looked back.

That's my $.02. YMMV
