I’m frustrated with Apple Card processing. I preapproved 3 IUP iPhones (too many kids) with my Apple card.
Today I tried to check them out and it kept asking me for my card number on the first. FINALLY it took and the transaction went thru.
Then using an ipad for one and iPhone for the other, It wouldn’t save the number and kept having me go back in and enter. FINALLY each saved, but transactions were denied. Luckily, it keep my line in the checkout so they all still come on the same day.

I periodically have this problem where Apple Card where it won’t go thru. There was no Apple Pay option that I could see, I had to use the physical card number. My credit limit had plenty of room.

I did notice that I hadn’t checked ‘make this card the default at Apple’. Maybe that would have helped with the ‘save number’ part of the problem.

Having a CC that won’t consistantly process is a big problem and is NOT up to Apple standards. I also feel cheated out of the cash back. I’m really glad I didn’t count on the Apple Card monthly financing option. I’m not sure what card IUP will use since I did preapproval with the Apple Card.

It was a disaster, ended up using a different card. I will switch it back to the Apple Card for next month's payment, but what a joke. Sad to lose the 3% on the initial purchase.

I was having similar issues with the Apple Card not being processed. I changed to American Express and it went right through. Sadly, though, on the confirmation page it showed a later shipping date. I was frustrated. But, when logging into the order via the website it still shows the 24th for my arrival date.

So I will change my card via Citizens once the account is set up.

Worst case I am out ~$3 in cash back.

Same thing happened to me.

Yeah wtf happened there. I had my Apple Card all set up as primary payment, and used it earlier this morning and it worked fine. I had to use another card. Gonna call Apple and see if they can change the payment method. It’s honestly only a mild inconvenience but caused unnecessary scrambling at the last minute.

Yup same thing happened to me with Apple Card. Errors/declines and even that I got denied by citizens. Used another card. Didn’t get confirmation on app but got email. 13PM/256/blue already had slipped on shipping so did in-store pick up on the 24. Suck I didn’t get the 3% cash back. Once account is created on citizens I’ll change payment to Apple Card. Oh well I’ll skip Starbucks next week for 1 day to recoup the 3% I didn’t earn today

Same here. As soon as I got email from citizen with my new loan number, I did change my monthly payment card to my AC to get my 3% back on every payment.

I don’t know if it is isolated issue with iUP, but I am having a similar issue with my other account (nintendo eshop) tied with AC today that the payment is unable to process with my AC with manually typed in informations (Card#, exp date, cvs)

When I set up my pre-preorder, it gave me the option for Apple Pay. I used Apple Pay with my Apple card for the order, and it worked fine

Uh oh, we broke AC. Goldman Sachs couldn't handle iPhone day.

I couldn’t get it to work. I feel bad for the first person that answers the phone, because I’m pissed off.
I'm in the same boat, but let's take a minute here - the poor sap who answers the phone has absolutely nothing to do with how the orders went down this morning. There's a way to express your frustration and disappointment, but screaming at a front-line call taker ain't it.

I didn’t see Apple Pay option, only the option to enter in my Apple Card number at the pre-approval then pre-order transactions. So I’ll have to look harder for that next year. I was able to go in to add my loans to my Citizens account (from the loan numbers in the prapproval emails) and change the payment card to my Apple card. 2 years ago I couldn’t even do that but it worked last year.

Also I did set my Apple card as my default Apple account payment - somehow that wasn’t set in my Wallet.

I’m just hoping they’ll figure it out for next year.

I had similar issues trying to purchase my wife's iPhone 13 with Apple Card payments. And I think the issue was the fact that the phone went quickly to "processing" without ever asking me to double click on the side button to bring up the Face ID. Ended up going to my iMac - which is one of the new ones that come with the keyboard having the Touch ID built in (GREAT IDEA APPLE) - and got it finished. But it was annoying.

It might be because I paid in full rather than doing the loan thing
