Only for crazy people 🤣

Knowing that the Apple event is right around the corner I bought an M1 iPad Pro 11 on Aug 20 …

Knowing that the Apple event is right around the corner I bought Airpods Max this past Sunday Aug 29 …

I can’t explain why lol. Really, I couldn't wait a couple of weeks to see what (if anything) changes? lolol

I also bought the magic keyboard with the iPad. I was sold over the Logitech for two reasons; built in charge port on the spine of the Apple case, leaving the iPad port free, and the footprint needed for the magic keyboard to do it’s thing, much less front-to-back needed.

A third consideration, which both keyboards solved, is that when I open the keyboard the outside stays on the outside. With covers, like the smart cover, the inside becomes the outside when folded out. Naturally this picks up whatever is on the surface where you place your iPad. You only have to forget once to clean off the surface of salt bits or whatever and you are stuck having to clean of the magic cover before closing it up again lol.

Alright crazy people … check in

On a sidenote, I bought the first batch of Airpods Pro in Nov 2020 and the left pod crackled from the beginning if you messed with it. Just this last week I had them checked out to see what options I might have for replacing the left one (or both). Apple Store tested both, they both had the crackle issue, and Apple replaced them both (not the case though) at no charge.

You are not crazy. You bought what you needed when it was available.
I did not replace my 2010 Macbook Air when I should have, constantly waiting for the much-promised "large" (15+") new MBA. My 2010 eventually could not log onto even Wikipedia, much less my bank, because the OS couldn't be updated anymore. Its second battery ran out of charge within 2 hours. And the "diving board" trackpad would only register a hard click in the lower-right corner, making mousing/surfing a real pain.
I finally gave up, last year, and bought an overpowered MBP, 16", with its size compatible to my eyes/lap size. Cost is now long forgotten, and that "large", promised MBA STILL hasn't appeared.
I won't click on the numerous Apple "prediction/leak" threads here and on EweTube anymore, they're not worth the time. Just wait for the official Apple events, and steer your purchases by what's available, not what's promised.

I will only replace my iPhone SE v2 when 4G/LTE is no longer available (as I finally gave up my ancient android when 2G ceased). Same for my 'pooters. I don't need the newest features. I just need what works, for as long as possible. FWIW.

Eh you’re fine, it’s no big deal to get the “most recent but off by 6-12 months so not bleeding edge most recent”… in my humble opinion. I did that in 2017 for some reason on the iphone 7, I wanted / needed one and didn’t want to wait a few weeks for the next iteration. Then it jumped from “new 8” that next month to not only 8 but “X” also and I thought dang, how far behind am I w/ my “new“ iphone 7? But I enjoyed the phone very much and never doubted the purchase. Hope you enjoy the stuff you got similarly!

This message posted from a 2018 6th Gen iPad.

My primary phone is an 11 Pro Max - bought new in 2021.

My secondary phone is a launch weekend 6s+.

My youngest Mac is a 2009 MacPro running Mojave.

My oldest Mac is a PowerMac G3 B&W running 10.4.11 Tiger Server. It's got a 2TB RAID and two Gigabit Ethernet NICs. I use it as a server.

You were saying something about being crazy OP?

I've had every single iPhone since it was introduced...
I'm buying the original toilet seat iBook and trying to retrofit it with some Mac mini M1 parts....
Bought a Performa 630cd and also trying to do the same thing there..
Bought the fully maxed out Mac Studio, only to return it to wait for the fully maxed out Mac Pro that isn't released yet.
iPhone 14 Pro Max? yup. soon. lol.

Crazy time over. ✌️

Me too— bought the AirPods Pro when they came out in 2019 actually (November?)— About a month ago I found them making a crackling sound while walking when ANC or transparency mode was enabled. Found out about the replacement program, and… they tested them and not just the one failed, both failed and both were replaced. 🤷🏻‍♂️ So I guess I’m not in a hurry to buy new ones now! 😂

It is a good thing that those "ear things" were called "AirPods" instead of "EarPads." Can you imagine asking a French speaking person for a pair of EarPads? :)

~Just kidding! I am just another crazy person.
