Well from what I have read on other threads is that the drivers are supplied to the manufacturer of the device or OS and from there its up to them to optimize them for the device or OS. Now coming from the PC side I know there are 3rd party people that really max the drivers but from the Apple Side I have not read anything of the sort.

im interested in the Mac-side drivers too. It's easy to find tweaked PC drivers, but what about tweaked drivers for OSX?
