Hello people. I am trying to repair a PowerMac G5 with the following specs:
http://goo.gl/Y8uZjS

I replaced the hard drive with no problems but i receive three blinking flashes on the front LED which means that the RAM is incompatible. Strangely enough the RAM modules are the ones preinstalled. I tried different modules but in most situations it doesn't boot.

Any suggestions? Could it be the memory banks? Is there a way to bypass the first slots and try seconds and thirds?

Thanks.

I remember reading that 2004 models suffered from high motherboard failure rate and because you say you are trying to fix it I guess it was originally given away or sold for parts because of some serious problems.

Try different slots (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2248) or try getting new pair to test. If it is a solder failure on the motherboard then repairing becames very difficult.
