Three finger drag vs. three finger drag + click

Hi,

I have two Macs, a Mac Pro (recent purchase!) and a MacBook Air (2010 version).

On my Mac Pro, the three finger drag will start to drag something, persist if I lift my finger for about a second, and then drop the item if I don't touch the trackpad again.

On my MacBook Air, the three finger drag will start to drag something, but will persist until I single click with the trackpad.

I like the first behavior. Can someone explain why there's an inconsistency, and how you might suggest I fix it?
