Hi!

I have the Logitech G5 and a 2012 MBA. When I click the thumb button the the G5 while surfing the web the browser is supposed to back the the previous page. Instead it the thumb button is set to open a link in a new tab. It is a nice function but I prefer the previous page function that also is the standard function on windows.

Is there a way to change the function of af button on a G5 on OSX or do it by using 3rd party software?

EDIT: Just to make it clear the thumb button is the button on the left side of the mouse on this picture:

Good News and Bad News...

As the title says, there is good and bad here. First off, Logitech does not offer a mac "native" driver set for this mouse to remap the extra buttons on the mouse:

However, a bit of looking around brought up some pretty inexpensive third-party software to accomplish what you would like to do.

USB Overdrive

While both of these require a nominal investment to use ($20.00), I would recommend some reading time on the forums for each software solution, maybe some more questions here to those that might use them and what not before deciding which way to go.

~Good Luck,

Same mouse I have and use with my 2010 MacBook. I'm looking into this as well and with your permission, I'll post my finds here too.

None of my buttons work except for the left/right and scroll (page) button.
