Resolved Thumbnail preview for .avi files

I want to be able to see the thumbnail previews for .avi video files in Finder.

Anyway to do this without converting? Or a good program that can bulk convert to .mp4/.mov?

You can use this Quick Look plugin: https://github.com/Marginal/QLVideo. It will only show a snapshot image of the video, however.
