Thumbnails for Video files?

Is there any software available that will create thumbnails for my videos? I have a load from my mates digital camera, all named stupid things like av2034.avi or whatever.

If I do get info the quicktime preview loads so there must be an automatic way.

Kind of like Pinki, but for video?

This is one of the only things I miss from Windows XP

CatDV. It's not too hot on thumbnails for MPGs though, but it's great for everything else.
