Thumbs up Emoji gives option to choose color every time

Like the title says ever since the latest watch update my Nike Series 4 gives me the option to select skin tone every time I want to quickly reply to a text with a thumbs up or other similar emojis.. Anyone else have this issue? It's like having to select the emoji you want twice for a quick reply..

Any of the emoji that offer multiple skin tones do that for me too in WatchOS 9.
